Puppies sold by River Stone Kennels are guaranteed for a lifetime to be free of the following genetic disorders: Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA), Labrador Myopathy (ARMD/PTPLA ,CNM), Degenerative Myopathy (DM), Exercise Induced Collapse EIC) Inherited Retinal Dysplasia (RD), Oculoskeletal Dysplasia (OSD), Hereditary Nasal Parakeratosis (HNPK), Skeletal Dysplasia 2 (Dwarfism SD2), Narcolepsy, Cystinuria, Elliptocytosis, Hyperuricosuria, Pyruvate Kinase Deficiency and Myotubular Myopathy. Since all of our breeding stock is DNA tested for these abnormalities, we can guarantee that the dog you purchase from us will never suffer from one of these problems.
Puppies sold by River Stone Kennels are guaranteed free of hip and elbow dysplasia up to 30 months of age and pass their OFA Hip Exam and OFA Elbow Exam (score of fair, good or excellent). It is the owner's responsibility, and we highly encourage owners to check for genetic problems, such as hip dysplasia at an early age, as orthopedic corrections are best done before arthritis develops. A Pennhip Exam or preliminary hip and elbow x-ray can be done in the dog’s first year of age. Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) Hip and Elbow exams are done at 24 months of age.
If your dog experiences a genetic disorder, please call us immediately so that 1) we can make a decision if this genetic combination of sire and dam should not be repeated, 2) we can recommend qualified veterinarians to you, 3) we can notify the other littermate owners, and 4) you will receive a credit (never expires) in the amount of purchase price of your dog on a future puppy provided.
To qualify for the guarantee:
The dog must be in possession of its original owner.
Must not exhibit related disorders caused by trauma or accident.
Must not have been bred.
Must not have been neutered prior to 24 months of age, or spayed prior to first heat cycle.
Purchasers of River Stone Kennels puppies can be assured that the kennel has extremely low incidences of genetic abnormalities among puppies it sells, a result of the care taken when choosing animals for breeding and as a result of the DNA genetic testing for abnormalities performed on our breeding sires and dams.
NOTE: River Stone Kennels will not pay for any veterinary work in any instance without prior consultation and approval.
As we understand this dog has been a member of your family since you accepted a puppy offer. River Stone Kennels will not require that the dog be returned for the guarantee to be effective.
One Year Unconditional Guarantee:
If for any reason, a customer is not satisfied with his/her puppy in its first year, the puppy may be returned for the purchase price refund, or a replacement of the puppy from a future litter. The puppy must be returned at the customer’s expense to our kennel. The puppy must be returned in good health.
